Each variable analytics chart provides unique information that can help identify the underlying cause of your chargebacks. This insight can help you solve issues at their source and prevent more chargebacks.
The Chargebacks by Product Type chart lists the chargeback-to-transaction ratio for each of your different products or SKUs.
This insight helps you determine which products are popular targets for criminals and friendly fraudsters. If you know which merchandise is highly susceptible to chargebacks, you can take preemptive action to reduce risk.

Various features allow you to analyze this chart’s data in greater detail and learn more about your chargebacks.
Hover over any bar in the graph. A popup box will display:
- the product or SKU being monitored
- the number of transactions made to purchase the product
- the number of chargebacks filed for the product
- the ratio of chargebacks to transactions
Filtering Data by Source
The default setting for your Chargebacks by Product Type chart is to show data for your entire portfolio. However, you have the ability to filter your data and break it down by different sources. For example, maybe you want to view chargeback counts by a particular merchant account or processor.
- Click Entire Portfolio to add a filter (MID, Processor, etc.).
- In the second dropdown list, select specific processors or merchant accounts to analyze.
I have a lot of different products. Why aren’t all of them listed on the Chargebacks by Product Type chart?
Many of the analytics charts show just 10 data sources. These 10 sources are the highest or most risky sources.
For example, this chart shows the 10 products in your portfolio that have the highest chargeback-to-transaction ratios.
